In vista della partita di UEFA Champions League tra AS Roma e Real Madrid, il centrocampista francese Aurélien Tchouaméni ha parlato in conferenza stampa a Roma.

Sulla squadra, il numero 14 ha dichiarato: “Real Madrid give it our all with what we’ve got. We have to stay calm, focus on ourselves and keep working hard, and everything will work out fine.”

Interrogato sui problemi di creatività a centrocampo, ha risposto: “I have my own opinion on that, and the rest is up to you to decide what we need. We’re going through a difficult spell, but we need to keep calm and keep working hard.”

Per quanto riguarda i recenti arbitraggi, Tchouaméni ha preferito non approfondire: “I don’t want to talk about the referees. They try their best, but at the moment we’re very frustrated with the decisions.”

Guardando alla partita contro la Roma, il centrocampista ha detto: “We know we’re up against a great team. We’ve seen them in the Champions League, they’re a great team, but we’ve got the quality to win.”

Riguardo alla stagione attuale, Tchouaméni ha ammesso che il Real Madrid sta attraversando una fase difficile: “We know that when we play for Madrid, there’s criticism. We’re not performing as we want to. The most important thing is what we win at the end of the season.” Ha aggiunto: “There are lots of things we can improve on. It’s normal that when things aren’t going well, there’s criticism.”

Sui chilometri percorsi in campo, ha minimizzato il dato: “We have to run intelligently. They’re just statistics.”

Il francese ha confermato di aver avuto colloqui con José Mourinho: “Yes, we’ve spoken and he told me what he wanted, how I can help. In Valencia, he asked me for balance; it’s important given all the attacking players we have.”

Sul Ballon d'Or, Tchouaméni ha sostenuto il connazionale Kylian Mbappé: “Kylian deserves it. He’s had an incredible season.”

Infine, riguardo alla percezione che Mourinho si concentri più sui risultati che sul bel gioco, il giocatore ha risposto: “That’s your opinion. I’m sure the manager wants to win, and that’s the most important thing.”
